Not this time. There was one new tumor, still very small,
which will be treated by gamma knife. Additionally there was some enlargement in
the areas of two previously treated tumors. Depending on what is seen in the
high resolution scan prior to the gamma knife surgery, they may be re–treated as well. Finally the
surgical sites from Harold’s February craniotomies, though all healed on the
outside, are still enlarged within his brain. This could be residual swelling
and not unexpected, but it could also indicate new tumor growth. These areas
will be closely watched.
We celebrate the victories and regroup after the setbacks. It’s
the nature of the cancer fight, but I’d guess it’s also the nature of life. Choosing
faith doesn’t guarantee the answers or the timing we want; it guarantees the
quality of the life we live.
I don't know why, but that last sentence really hit me. It belongs in a quote book or something. It really is true! No matter what happens, our lives are always better when we have faith. I love that, so thank you.
ReplyDeleteI agree, a great ponder statement
DeleteHappy Easter! I am so glad my family grew up close to yours- and I am glad to have the chance to reconnect better through this blog and email. Thank you for your example of faith over this past year.
